Adele Gives Birth to a Baby Boy!

Adele
Us Weekly

Adele better brush up on her lullabies!

The eight-time Grammy winner has given birth to a healthy baby boy, a source tells Us Weekly. It is the first child for Adele and the second for her boyfriend, Simon Konecki, who has a five-year-old daughter with ex-wife Clary Fisher.

In the time since confirming her pregnancy on her official blog in July, the 24-year-old pop star has remained largely out of the spotlight as she focused on her baby-to-be. "The baby is healthy and she's so excited!" an Adele confidant told Us Weekly in late September.

Going back into the recording studio to belt out "Skyfall," the theme song for the new James Bond film just prior to giving birth, Adele is also working on her next full-length album. Her new music, a source explains, will be inspired in large part by her new bundle of joy.

"The pregnancy has had a big impact on her songwriting!" explains the insider, who tells Us the new album will be lighter in tone than her breakup-themed disc 21, released in early 2011.

New music isn't the only thing the busy mom has on her upcoming agenda. She and Konecki, 38, are anxious to wed! Raised by a single mom, a pal tells Us that Adele "wants a low-key affair where her mother gives her away."

More than anything, says the insider, "she wants to be a wife and mom."

New Documentary Catches Up With Chris “Leave Britney Alone!” Crocker

Chris Crocker today [photo: Twitter]
By Lyndsey Parker | As Heard On

Before there was Rebecca Black, Justin Bieber, or David After Dentist, there was Chris Crocker, one of YouTube's original "ceWebrities." Back in September 2007, the bleached-blonde Tennessee teen found instant and unlikely fame when a camcorder rant he shot at his grandparents' house, "Leave Britney Alone!"--a sobbing defense of his fallen idol Britney Spears, after she caught flak for her disastrous VMAs performance--went superviral. (The clip racked up more than four million views in just two days, and as of this writing, it has been watched almost 44 million times.) But there is more to Chris Crocker than just those two minutes and 12 seconds of online infamy, as a surprising new documentary that premiered at Sundance earlier this year and aired on HBO this week, Me @ The Zoo, now reveals.

The film, which was executive-produced by R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, co-directed by Scissor Sisters frontman Jake Shears's husband Chris Moukarbel, and scored by Bjork/Usher/Philip Glass collaborator Nico Muhly, chronicles Chris's troubled upbringing as the effeminate, frequently bullied son of a meth-addicted teen mom. (His mother was only 14 when she gave birth to him, and Chris says, "I think I saw some of my younger mom in Britney when I was a kid.") Chris--who stopped going to school during his junior high years to avoid daily bullying for being "overtly gay," and basically became a teenage shut-in from that point on, living with his paternal grandparents--explains in one of the film's scenes that he posted his flipcam videos on MySpace and later YouTube as a "way of defending myself against the people in my hometown without having to fight back physically."

But of course, Chris also reveals that the bullying he endured for most of his young life hardly went away once he became an overnight Internet sensation; in some ways, it just became more high-profile. In one of Me @ The Zoo's many sad scenes, a "Glenn Beck" television clip shows the notoriously conservative cable news host stating, "I'll leave [Britney] alone, if I can target this guy for a while."

Chris, who has pursued an electropop music career and reportedly even once considered doing porn after his YouTube star started to fade, has clearly matured a great deal since he uploaded "Leave Britney Alone!" (which, he explains in the film, was shot from "a child's perspective"). He continues to post personal videos on his YouTube channel, which still boasts about 355,000 subscribers and a to-date total of more than a quarter-million views. But long gone are his trademark peroxided emo-bob and tear-smeared eyeliner (with his new clean-cut, masculine look, he is nearly unrecognizable), and his videos are much more serious and thoughtful in tone. In one recent angry commentary he posted about Rihanna's controversial decision to record a duet with her former abuser Chris Brown, titled "Rihanna, WHY?," Crocker surprisingly eloquently discusses his mother's own abusive past, and questions Rihanna's ability to be a role model for other female domestic abuse victims. This is obviously a far cry from the sniffling, screeching viral video that made Chris Crocker famous five years ago.

"I was 19 years old at the time. I'm 24, going to be 25 now, and my priorities have changed," Chris, who actually lived as a girl for several years in his teens, says in the film. "I'm not obsessed with pop culture, pop music, or anything the way I once was as a teenager, for sure....I'm into poetry. I'm reading my Sylvia Plath."

Some naysayers may question why any documentarian would want to create an entire film about a "D-list" Web star years after most YouTubers have likely forgotten all about him and moved on to the latest fleeting Internet meme. But in a Twitter/Facebook/Tumblr/Foursquare/Pinterest age when almost everyone lives online, bullying is a hotter topic than ever, and Britney is enjoying her own comeback, Chris's story truly resonates. The film's co-director, Valerie Veatch, explains to HBO: "In some ways [Chris is] the first gay person online to express an aggressive, confident persona that I think so many young kids look to and model themselves after. On one level, he's extremely entertaining and has a great aesthetic. And on another level, he's a very brave person. And I think his bravery and his honesty are what people are drawn to."

Kim Kardashian Wants to be Mayor of Glendale, California

By Claudine Zap | Yahoo! TV

If Kim Kardashian has her way, she may be addressed as Mayor Kardashian one day.

In a bonus clip from the "Khloé and Lamar" show Sunday, the two sisters are filmed driving around in Dallas -- and pass by the Ross Perot Museum. This prompts Kim to say, “That guy ran for president.” And that she is going to run for mayor of Glendale in “like, five years.” Kim explains she is looking into the requirements, such as residency: "I have to a buy a house there."

The reality TV star is even thinking strategy with her friend Noelle Keshishian, who will help with her campaign. Why Glendale? “Because it’s like Armenia town.” Kim has done her research: Of the town’s population of about 200,000, one-quarter is Armenian -- the largest population outside of Armenia.

Khloé pipes in that she’s going to be mayor of Dallas, so maybe there’s a new political dynasty coming our way.

Not to be killjoys, but according to the city of Glendale’s website, the government operates on a "council-manager" system: Five council members are selected to serve four-year terms, and each year the council selects one member to serve as mayor.

The good news: the mayor oversees council meetings and ceremonial responsibilities. (Ribbon cuttings! Parades!) That has Kim’s name written all over it.

Mayor Kim -- now there's a reality show we’d watch.

‘Matilda’ child star: Film acting is not fun

By Meriah Doty | Movie Talk

You may not know her by name, but perhaps that is by design. Nineties child star Mara Wilson has revealed why she quit performing for cameras in a recent blog post: "Here is something no real celebrity will ever tell you: film acting is not very fun."

In the post, a seemingly frustrated Wilson discusses her childhood career—she appeared in films such as "Matilda" (1996), "Mrs. Doubtfire" (1993) and "Miracle on 34th Street" (1994)—indicating the beauty standard for today's big screen is too contentious for her, and the talent pool is impressive:

I think that there are many much more talented, much more conventionally attractive actresses out there who are taking the roles I would have been offered. To paraphrase the showtune, anything I can do, Anna Kendrick or Ellen Page or Jennifer Lawrence (or any actress from the plethora of actresses waiting to be "discovered") can do better.

Wilson addresses the continued enthusiasm her fans have, many of whom ask her to return to film. She compares her early success to finger painting:

It's flattering, but you haven't finger-painted in years, and it seems like something you did a long, long time ago. You've realized you don't particularly enjoy getting your hands dirty and that there are other outlets for your creative urges. But people are adamant: are you going to finger-paint again? When? Wait, you're not? Why not?... That's what it feels like.

The former child star, now 24, attended New York University and now works as a playwright, according to Us Weekly. And yes, she does still act in theater productions and for voice-over work. But:

...no, you will not ever see me on "Dancing With The Stars." Sorry.

Nicole Kidman: ‘I Don’t Mind Being Naked’

Not many actresses willingly flaunt their bodies in their 40s, let alone after they've had a baby, but Nicole Kidman, 44, not only doesn't mind showing off her physique, she admits to even enjoying it. In an interview with W, the star of the upcoming HBO biopic "Hemingway & Gellhorn" opens up about going nude for movies, her most memorable sex scenes, and what brought her closer with her husband, country singer Keith Urban. When asked about her propensity for filming scenes in the buff, Kidman — who has taken it all off for "Fur" and "Eyes Wide Shut" — admitted, "I don't mind being naked. Maybe as I get older, and now having had a baby, it might be different, but I enjoy not letting my issues get in the way of a performance. Once I start putting all my little insecurities in my mind, I'm not actually acting. Then it's about me — and it should never be about me. It should be about the character."

Due to some of the sexually-charged scenes in her films, Kidman's family doesn't get to see everything she does. Her mother Janelle, who she describes as "tough on me," is a fan of "The Hours," for which Kidman won an Academy Award, and the musical "Moulin Rouge," but she was not a fan of "Fur," the 2006 biopic about "photographer of freaks" Diane Arbus. In it, Kidman actually shaves Robert Downey Jr.'s character, a man who suffers from hypertrichosis and is covered head to toe in hair — and then has sex with him. "I am the only person who has ever gotten to shave Robert Downey Jr. naked. Nobody else can say that — not even his wife!"

Sex happens to be the theme in Kidman's latest project, which co-stars Clive Owen as Ernest Hemingway to her journalist Martha Gellhorn, the writer's mistress-turned-wife. In the HBO film, the two spend years reporting from war-torn countries, while also maintaining their intense passion for each other. "The sex was very important in that relationship because that's the way she cuts Hemingway off," Kidman explains to W.
